The Unity Project (UP) is a non-profit, school-based bias and harassment
prevention program that was the flagship program of the Center for Preventing
Hate from 2002-2011. Two Maine schools joined UP in 2002, and through
years of dedication by many Center staff members, the program has grown
to include between 40 and 80 schools each year, including a half-dozen
entire districts in Maine, Tennessee, Oregon, and Northern Ireland.

When the Center closed in 2011, UP became an independent program,
still providing the same high quality youth leadership development and
harassment prevention programming for schools across Maine and
beyond. School administrators, faculty, staff, and students who have
been involved in UP remain committed to creating safe schools, and UP is
proud to partner with these strong leaders.

The Unity Project will continue offering services to all existing UP schools and
districts, but will focus future work on Maine schools. Please "like" our Facebook

Maine training-of-trainers programs to be rolled out during the 2012-2013 school year.
